SHRM Foundation
The SHRM Foundation offers numerous certification, academic, and professional development scholarships and grants to HR professionals and students. The following two may be the most applicable for our student members:
San Antonio Human Resource Management Association (SAHRMA)
The SHRM Foundation offers numerous certification, academic, and professional development scholarships and grants to HR professionals and students. The following two may be the most applicable for our student members:
- Undergraduate Scholarship
- Application open by May 15, 2020: $2500 for a degree-seeking undergraduate program
- Current SHRM member (professional or student)
- Enrolled in a degree-seeking undergraduate program
- University is an accredited institution of higher learning
- Degree program is HR-related (e.g. business, psychology, HR, org development, etc.)
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Graduate Scholarship
- Application open by May 15, 2020: $5000 for a degree-seeking graduate program
- Current SHRM member (professional or student)
- Enrolled in a degree-seeking master or doctoral program OR accepted and ready to begin your studies within six months
- University is an accredited institution of higher learning
- Degree program is HR-related (e.g. business, psychology, HR, org development, etc.)
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, or if not yet enrolled, an undergrad GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
San Antonio Human Resource Management Association (SAHRMA)
- Art Edgardian/Charles Umshied Scholarship
- A $1,000 scholarship is awarded each Spring and Fall Academic Semester.
- Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited four-year college or university in the United States at time of application and award of scholarship.
- Applicants must submit a completed scholarship application for each scholarship that they are applying for. A previous application submission may not be used towards a later scholarship application.

HR Southwest Conference
The HRSouthwest Conference (HRSWC) is the premier regional human resources conference in the United States – a true don’t-miss event, providing more than 100 educational sessions from thought-leading speakers, an abundance of networking opportunities and an exciting Marketplace of more than 200 HR solutions and service providers.

- Student Conference Sponsorship
- Students may apply to have their $200 registration fee sponsored. A limited number of sponsorship’s are available for qualified students and will be assigned in the order of request. All sponsorship requests and qualification documents must be received by September 04, 2020.
- Excellence in Education Student Scholarship
- Up to four scholarships of $1,500 plus the net proceeds from the Silent Auction are awarded to qualified students. In addition, the students receive a complimentary registration to the conference and up to three nights lodging (shared room). Award winners will be selected based upon their academic standing, involvement in their community and campus, and by recommendations of their professors, advisors, and/or employers.
